At the beginning of this April, the bidding results of the first phase Demonstration Project of the Inner Mongolia Wulanchabu Wind Power Base developed by National Power Investment Group were released. With its excellent system solutions, DEC’s whole-owned subsidiary, Dongfang Electric Wind Power Co., Ltd., obtained the recognition of the bid evaluation experts and the Tenderee and successfully won the fifth biding section with 1100MW installed capacity.
This order is the onshore wind power project with the largest unit capacity and the largest installed capacity obtained by DEC. Meanwhile, it is also the single wind power project with the highest contract amount in China.
roject of Wulanchabu Wind Power Base is located in Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a total investment of 42.5 billion RMB(6.3 billion USD), a planned area of 3656 square kilometers and a total capacity of 6000MW. It is the world's largest single onshore wind power project. The wind speed is between 7.0m/s and 10.5m/s. After the completion of the project, the annual green energy of 18.8 billion kWh will penetrate into the power market transaction of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei in accordance with the principle of renewable energy priority generation, and will benefit air pollution control in Beijing and its surrounding areas as well as 2022 Winter Olympics.
