2011China International Green Innovative Products & Technologies Show(CIGIPTS)” was successfully held in China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou during 9th - 11th, November, 2011.
As the largest professional show in green industry sponsored by China government, CIGIPTS was  specifically launched with the mission of developing the green innovative products and for the purpose of realizing the Chinese 12th Five-Year Plan regarding green low-carbon, energy conservation, emission reduction and to  establish a resources economy and friendly environment. CIGIPTS is organized by China Foreign Trade Center and China Import & Export Chamber of Commerce M & E Branch with over 500 exhibitors came from the worldwide.
With the green low-carbon economy developing globally and considering the climate change, DEC showed its dedication on the green energy resource so as to enlarge its international cooperation with other enterprises in green industry and the related green products, which has managed to attracted the main attention from the public. During the exhibition period, CCTV had an exclusive interview with Mr. Zhang Xiaolun. Mr. Zhang stated that DEC will strengthen the international cooperation in the field of green low-carbon technology, products and services, and to improve our international competitiveness in this regard, so as to create a better market admittance opportunity for DEC’s long -term development.
As the national strategic base for heavy-duty machinery and equipment, DEC possesses comprehensive technical R&D abilities and is honored by the Central Government as a National Research & Development Center, DEC equipped itself with the first-class comprehensive technology development ability in the power generation industry. In addition, DEC actively develops clean energy such as nuclear, wind and solar power in order to improve the human living environment with sustaining effort to various fields such as desulphurization and denitrification, heavy-duty machinery, power transmission, hi-voltage large power frequency converter, solar grade silicon, industrial control devices, chemical and maritime equipment .

     On September 16th, 2011, the 9th East Asia Forum with the theme of “Accelerating Regional Integration: Internal Growth Engine of East Asia” was held in Chengdu by the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Nearly 100 participants, including government officials and representatives of the business and academic communities of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and ASEAN members and officials of ASEAN Secretariat attended the Forum.
DEC attended the Forum and delivered a speech as the Chinese industry representative: DEC as one of the largest electric equipment supplier and engineering contractor in the world, has conducted substantive co-operation with ASEAN, constructed a number of large-scale electrical power projects, promoted the host country’s factor endowments upgrading and provided advantages for advanced industrial acceptance and transfer. DEC is willing to continue deepen cooperation with ASEAN, and contribute for the host country’s economic construction in various forms.
In the subsequent discussion, all the delegations discussed around related contents, thorough exchanged opinions to suggest and all said will further improve the level of cooperation, promote industrial progress, win together through cooperation and realize co-prosperity in the East Asian region.

     Sponsored by the China Machinery Industry Association, an activity themed on “Chinese Equipment, Equipping China, Stepping into the Global” was held on 23rd September , 2011. DEC was awarded as the “Outstanding Enterprise for Equipping-China”. Mr. Wang Ji, the Chairman of DEC was also awarded as the “Outstanding Entrepreneur of Equipping-China”.
 

     On September 16th 2011, Mr. Chen Huan, the vice president of Dongfang Electric Corporation participated and gave a presentation on the Indian National Conference of the Thermal Power Unit Reform at India’s Central Power Commission’s invitation. The conference was hosted by the Indian’s Power Ministry, India’s Central Power Commission and NTPC, and co-sponsored by the BHEL and India’s Energy Efficiency Bureau Joint.

     26th August, 2011, the Construction Experience-summarizing Conference of the CGN (China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group)-Dayawan Nuclear Power Base was held in Shenzhen.
7th August, 2011, the Ling Ao NPP Phase II were completely constructed and has been put into operation, which has the vital significance in the history of China’s Nuclear Power development, and also indicate a breakthrough of the independent construction and development in the nuclear power area. DEC has had the honor to undertake and successfully fulfill the duty to manufacture the Nuclear Island Main Equipments of the Ling Ao NPP Phase II and the first batch of domestic 1000 MW class half-speed nuclear steam turbine generator unit, which made a great contribution to the localization of the 1000MW class nuclear power equipments.
After the completion and operation of 2# unit of the Ling Ao NPP Phase II, this conference was held for the purposes of summarizing the experience of the construction of the CGN-Dayawan Nuclear Power Base, and of the implementation of the governmental policy “advancing the construction of nuclear power industry actively”. During the conference, Mr. Zhang Guobao, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and other officials presented the conference and delivered very important speech.
 

     In August 9, Mr. Zefu Si, the President of Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) led a delegation visited Sinosteel Corporation. Mr. Zefu Si signed the strategic Partnership Agreement with Mr. Baojun Jia, the Chairman of Sinosteel Co., LTD. During the visit, the procurement contract for the main equipments of BIGA 1×600MW supercritical coal power plant in Turkey was also signed , which is DEC’s first international project with the payment of RMB.
Mr. Baojun Jia said the two parties should both take the Turkish project as an opportunity to expand the cooperation, and to play their respective advantages so as to establish a stable foundation for further corporation

     After receiving the Letter of Award regarding the coal-to-gas power relocation project of the Tianjin Chentang Thermal Power Station on June 10th, DEC officially signed the project design and main equipment supply contract on 9th August. Mr. Zefu Si, the President of the Dongfang Electric Corporation attended the signing ceremony.
The two sets of gas and steam combined cycle generating units are composed of the four 9F gas turbines, which is the largest contract in terms of capacity for supply of combine cycle units by DEC. The power island and gas turbine units of this project will finish the reliable operation on 15th June, 2013.
 

      On 5th July, 2011’s DEC Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in the Reporting Hall of the DFEM Middle School.
In Deyang, “DEC Scholarship” is set for the junior and senior middle school students for the purpose of conducting corporation social responsibility, supporting the development of education projects in Deyang, and encouraging the outstanding students to study hard in a good progress with all respect of virtue, wisdom, health and perfect development. There will be 200 outstanding students benefit from the awarding schedule in each year.

    On 10th June, DEC received the notice of award from Tianjin Jinneng Chengtangzhuang (TJC) Power Plant regarding the natural-gas-replacing-coal & relocation project. The total capacity of this project is up to 4×460MW, which contains four sets of M701F4 gas turbines, two sets of 300MW steam turbines and six sets of 300MW generators. To this point, it becomes the biggest contract for combined cycle generating units in capacity that DEC has ever signed so far.

  On the 7th June, DEC and the the Electricite De France(EDF) signed the low pressure heater supply contract for Nuclear Power Plant. Mr. Pirrat, the Vice President of China Region of EDF, Mr. Cordero,the Vice President of the Strategic Procurement Department of EDF, Mr. Feng Gao, the Vice President of Dongfang Electric Co. Ltd., and Mr. Wei Tang, the Vice President of DEC Heavy Machinery attended the Signing ceremony.
EDF is the largest nuclear power operator in the world. After a long time of communication and discussion, the producing capacity of DEC‘s nuclear power products was eventually approved by EDF. This contract is DEC’s first exportation of nuclear power products. Hence, it greatly promotes the cooperation between DEC and EDF and also indicates that the DEC nuclear power products are going to enter the worldwide market.
